Ann and her husband had seen the passing of their 17 year old Vizla Gracie. Izzie, Gracie’s 11 year old daughter was lonely and so they started searching for a senior companion for Izzie. Ann had read about both Duke and Spook on Satchel’s website. They first met Duke but he was somewhat timid with Izzie. They decided to meet Spook next and Izzie and Spook got along great. Although they had been told that Spook was not much of a snuggler, they decided to adopt him as they knew he would be a great buddy for Izzie. Fast forward a few weeks and Spook, now known as Cooper, is not only a great friend with Izzie, but he LOVES to cuddle and always wants to be touching one of his humans when they are sitting together. Cooper and Izzie are great at teamwork when it comes to seeking out lizards on the lanai and they love to spend time napping side by side on their favorite sofa. Ann and her husband started rescuing senior dogs about twenty years ago. Ann feels that the three key benefits of adopting a senior are that they are thankful to be in a home; they bond quickly and they always seem to be on their best behavior. Cooper is a very lucky dog to be the recipient of the love and care that Ann and her family will provide for however much time he has left.
