Sarah and John had been thinking of getting a companion for their dog Olive. A friend of Sarah’s who is a Satchel’s volunteer had sent her a photo of Roxey, as she looks very similar to Olive. When they saw the picture, they felt it must be a sign to go meet her. At the time, they did not know that Roxey was a “special needs dog”, diagnosed with diabetes and going blind. Sarah said that she had never had a blind dog, but they fell for her immediately and Sarah, working from home, knew that she would have the time and ability to care for her. Roxey is doing fantastic and has settled quickly into a routine. She and Olive are best buddies and love to cuddle and sleep together under the covers. Sarah said they are one big happy family and they are very grateful to Satchel’s for rescuing Roxey!
