“I was originally looking for a purebred German Shepherd puppy but decided to go with an older dog. I learned of a 4-year-old German Shepherd Belgian Malinois mix named Ari, now Kumari, at Satchel’s. I fell in love when I met her. The car ride home and the first night was rough as she was just a ball of anxiety, but she started to settle by the next day. We started training right away, working with her on her leash pulling, arousal towards other dogs and rabbits, car anxiety, and other basic obedience. There’s still a long way to go, but she’s already learned so much and is making a lot of progress! I’m still learning about her too, like how she memorizes where her toys are, that she likes her snout being rubbed, or that she uses her paws on everything! I’ll be going to school at Highland Canine Training in Alabama soon for advanced obedience and behavioral dog training to become a certified dog trainer. I plan on bringing Kumari with me and applying the things I learn in class into our own training. I hope to one day use Kumari to help train other dogs by being the neutral dog in socialization.”
Another great success story and a wonderful match for Morgan and Kumari.Ari sitting up posing. Ari laying in a kiddie pool. Ari sitting in the back of the car.
