Just look at this handsome dude! Monte is sweet, loving boy but doesn’t appear to have had much training in his younger life. His leash walking skills are a little lacking, indicating perhaps he doesn’t have much experience in that area. He is currently in a foster home learning some essential obedience, seems eager to please and will listen, but he needs some consistent training to help him understand what is required of him. He enjoys wandering around his yard but likes “his person” to be out there with him. Human attention is important to him and he’d prefer a home with someone around much of the time. He would do well in a home as an only dog or with a medium-large size dog. He doesn’t realize his size when it comes to small dogs and cats. Monte has recently been diagnosed with hip dysplasia which slows him down a little. We have started him on an injection which he will need once a month for life to help keep him free of pain. You can be shown how to give this injection with ease. This gorgeous boy doesn’t have a mean bone in his body, just loves everyone and everything. If you’re looking for a loving companion and have some time to train, why not meet Monte? Monte is 4 years old and weighs approximately 60 lbs. For an appointment to meet him, please submit the adoption application (no commitment) found on our website and an adoption counselor will be in touch.
