Meet Copper, 3 year old terrier mix weighing 14 lbs. When Copper first meets new people his radar goes up and he goes into protective mode but give him a treat and he will sense the threat is over and start to relax. He’s not interested in being held or having any hugs until his trust develops more but, after a short time in his foster home, he was feeling comfortable, enjoying human attention and showing he actually likes being a lap dog. It’s always a slow process giving dogs time to build trust, but let Copper dictate the pace and he’ll progress in leaps and bounds. Copper is very active and walks two miles every morning. He seems to have had some training in the past. He loves to play fetch and will drop the ball in front of you (all you have to say .. “drop the ball” ). He listens well and understands basic commands.
Copper is currently in a foster home learning how to trust people and enjoy being a dog. For an appointment to meet him, please submit the adoption application (no commitment) found on our website, www.satchelslastresort.org, and an adoption counselor will be in touch to schedule an appointment.
