Samantha had been searching on Petfinder for a chocolate lab when she read about Hunter. Her family had raised service dogs while she was growing up and Hunter looked similar to a dog they had in the past. When she met him, she fell for him immediately and knew that she was lucky to be chosen as there were many applications. He was very afraid of everything when she first took him home; doorways, stairs, and even the tile, but he has made tremendous progress in a short amount of time with her love and patience. Once he knew he could trust and felt safe, he began to open up and show his sweet and goofy personality and has put on much needed weight. As she is working from home, she is able to spend lots of time training and building his confidence. He loves the dog beach and does great meeting new people. Samantha says that it has been a privilege to care for him and give him the new life that he deserves!
