Happy Landings for ChaCha! Adoption follow up
Margaret and Henry had experienced the loss of their beloved 17-year-old Pugsley and wished to donate his belongings. A friend had recommended Satchel’s whereupon they learned about the Foster Program. They decided fostering a senior would be perfect for them at this point in their lives and ChaCha was the chosen one, a senior dog in need of a loving home. Upon welcoming ChaCha into their care, Margaret and Henry were instantly captivated by her sweet nature and within a single day, they formed a strong bond and decided to make ChaCha a permanent member of their family. Initially, ChaCha slept very lightly as she remained vigilant for any unfamiliar sounds. However, as time passed, she developed a comfortable sleeping pattern and gradually emerged from her nervous demeanor. While she initially required encouragement to enter certain rooms, she has since learned to feel welcome in every room of their home. Upon arriving at Satchel’s, ChaCha was overweight, experiencing mobility challenges and having difficulty sitting comfortably. Margaret is pleased to report that ChaCha has already lost some extra weight which has significantly improved her ability to sit upright over the past few months. ChaCha now eagerly anticipates her long leisurely walks, which typically span 30 to 40 minutes twice a day. She has been provided with a bed in each room and loves to snuggle in her parent’s bed which she can easily reach with steps. ChaCha has had two wonderful training sessions with Morgan of Rightway Rover to help her with reactivity towards other dogs and to meet their son’s dog Luna. Margaret said they have learned a lot about ChaCha during these sessions and they will continue to work with her so they may facilitate a good relationship between ChaCha and Luna.
A very lucky ChaCha has found a caring and patient forever home where she will live out her years with love, security and comfort.
