We love foster fails, and although they happen often with our Satchel’s foster dogs and cats, some are especially memorable. A few months ago, we sent 2-year-old Farley to a board and train program with one of our trainers, Rafael (Rafi), to improve his dog skills, focusing on resource guarding and on-leash manners around other dogs. Dogs are intelligent, and Farley quickly learned from the cues and lessons in his foster household. He also thrived in a structured environment where he developed good social skills. During a short visit back at the shelter, it became evident that Farley’s best behavior appeared when he was with Rafi and his family. The great news is that they loved him just as much, and despite an upcoming big cross-country move, they chose to officially adopt him. Now known as Kuzco, Farley is living happily with a family that truly understands and loves him. Congratulations to Kuzco, Rafi and his family!
