Candy Cane came to Satchel’s last December. This baby just a year old living a feral life with a baby of her own had been trapped and temporarily taken into a home while a rescue was sought. Satchel’s stepped up. Her kitten was adopted almost immediately but Candy Cane was always overlooked in our cat room as she was extremely shy and would hide whenever potential adopters came looking for a cat to join their family. That changed a couple of weeks ago, when someone came to meet her after seeing her on our website. Jane patiently waited and waited and waited until Candy Cane came out for a visit. It was love at first site for Jane and a few days later Candy Cane went to her new home. Latest news, a few days ago, from her new home stated she is coming along nicely, hiding for the first two days and then starting to venture out. She is enjoying watching the birds outside and starting to ask for attention from her new family. To quote them, “She is a very gentle soul and just needs time to trust humans”.
We are so happy to have another successful story from our Rescue-Rehab-Rehome Program. Please consider taking the time to meet some of our shy kitties and you too can enjoy watching the amazing change so many cats go through when they find their perfect home.
