My heart is swelling with happiness and the tears flow to think of our girl Brooke in her forever home for her retirment years. Brooke came to Satchel’s 10 years ago as a young girl who’s dislike for other dogs had gotten her into some trouble. A very energetic girl who didn’t always love everyone she met made it difficult to find the right home for Brooke. As the years went by, Brooke made many human friends at Satchel’s and became popular with all the volunteers, however her strong dislike for other dogs still proved to be a challenge. One of our staff members, Violet, has always loved Brooke and a couple of weeks ago decided it was time to fill her home with the love of another dog and Brooke would be the lucky girl. Brooke was happy to say goodbye to many of her friends and head out to enjoy Christmas in a home for the first time in 10 years. Sweet, sweet Brooke, you will be missed at the shelter by all the staff and volunteers who have spent time with you over the years, but we will all smile every time we think of you, knowing how happy you must be to have your own person, your own couch, your own home. Thank you so much Violet and congratulations to you both!
