It is with heavy hearts that we must announce the loss of Snuggles, one of our beloved Satchel’s family members. Snuggles lived to the ripe old age of 19 or 20, and even though she never lived in a “real” home, she definitely got to experience an abundance of real love during her time with us here at Satchel’s. This sweet girl was found by a nurse hanging around Sarasota Memorial Hospital 15 years ago. With nowhere else to go, she found her way to Satchel’s and joined the other small group of cats that had made their home here. She was recently diagnosed with kidney failure and it quickly became apparent that recovery was unlikely. Yesterday she told us she was beginning to suffer and we made the tough decision to let her go peacefully while she still had her dignity.
Until we meet again at the bridge precious girl, you will be sorely missed and your memory cherished by staff and volunteers here at the sanctuary. Run free sweet Snuggles and enjoy being whole again.
