Sweet Sally’s story reminds us how quickly life can change—and how wonderful it is when a community comes together for a dog in need.
Ten-year-old Sally came to Satchel’s after her beloved owner unexpectedly passed away, leaving her with nowhere to go. We were grateful to welcome her into our care, and it didn’t take long for her to find a special champion—volunteer Woof Pack leader Sally, whose name just happened to match her own.
Despite the changes in her life, Sally’s playful spirit shined through. One of her favorite things was racing around our two-acre play yard chasing the big Jolly Balls. Watching her joyfully toss and chase them was an absolute delight for our staff and volunteers.
Thankfully, Sally didn’t have to wait long for her next chapter. She was recently adopted by Dana and her family, where she’ll enjoy a loving home and the companionship of two senior canine siblings. We’re so happy for this wonderful girl and the family who welcomed her with open arms.
