Puma (named for the cat more commonly known as the cougar) is a 1-year-old female, tortoiseshell cat. Tortoiseshell cats, like calicos, are almost exclusively female and tend to be fiercely independent and feisty. Puma is petite and has a very interesting color pattern in her coat. Although Puma is a little shy, she is also kind of a diva. She likes attention and petting but when she is done she will let you know in no uncertain terms (not unlike most cats). Puma does well in our free roaming cat room and does not challenge the other cats but it takes her some time to warm up to human visitors. Puma loves catnip toys and treats and they can be used to command her attention. For the most part, she is calm and loves to lull around on the cat shelves.
For an appointment to meet Puma, please submit the adoption application (no commitment) found on our website, www.satchelslastresort.org, and an adoption counselor will be in touch.
