Lily is in jail. No, we don’t mean Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office Animal Services, though she came to us from that wonderful facility. Lily has joined the Greyhound Advancement Center’s inmate training program. This program has mostly been reserved for greyhounds but recently the Greyhound Advancement Center has opened it up to a select few shelters. We were very excited to be considered.
Lily is currently housed at the Hardee County Correctional facility where she will receive professional training by an inmate trainer. This is not only fantastic news for Lily but also the inmate that gets to work with her one on one. Lily will learn basic obedience, build confidence, and become a more ideal family companion ready for her forever home. We couldn’t be more happy for Lily and to part of this fantastic program.
