Happy Landings for Ricky! Adoption follow up.
Katie and Rob had been planning on going to Satchel’s to drop off donations when Katie saw Rick’s photo and story on Facebook. They fell in love when they met him and knew he would fit in perfectly with their family and his four canine siblings, including two Satchel’s alumni. Although almost totally deaf and blind due to previous neglect, it only took Ricky about a week to settle in; learn his way around and adapt to their schedule. He is loving life with his four canine companions and is particularly infatuated with Rob. Ricky has Rob’s schedule memorized and begins his “woo woo” happy sound when he knows Rob is coming home. Rob carries him in a shoulder bag when everyone goes out for a walk and Ricky loves to cuddle up with Rob in his chair. Sunday football has become a favorite with Ricky as it’s three full hours of chair time and being petted and he clearly has Rob wrapped around his precious paws. He has learned how to fit into the line up with his siblings at dinner time and especially loves Sunday morning breakfast with bacon, eggs and waffles. Watching him come out of his shell has been extremely rewarding to Katie and Rob and Ricky has helped to fill the void created when they lost their dear JJ last May. Another fantastic match and a very lucky Ricky has gotten a second chance at a wonderful new life!
