Happy Landings for Quinn! Adoption follow up.
Robert (Dr. Bob) had lost both of his labs within the last two years and was ready for a canine companion again. His granddaughter had recently rescued Macie, an Australian Cattle Dog, and when Bob met Macie he was taken by her playful and inquisitive disposition. He knew he’d love to adopt a dog just like Macie, even though he’d always had labs. Amazingly, a Macie “look-alike,” Quinn, popped up on Satchel’s Facebook post. Bob planned a trip to Sarasota and instantly fell in love. Quinn was enjoying his new life in New Smyrna Beach when Bob passed away unexpectedly a few weeks later. His daughter, Sara, and her family welcomed Quinn into their home and he has adapted quickly. Quinn and Macie are getting along great and Quinn has even befriended the miniature horses residing on the farm. Quinn often follows the cats around, but they’re clever and know where to hide. He loves to watch TV, especially when the squirrels make an appearance. After having Quinn home for a short time, they realized that he was completely deaf, although it has not posed any challenges because of his exceptional eye contact. The family is committed to working with a trainer to help Quinn blossom and thrive. Sara noted that Quinn has found a way to make the loss of her dad a bit easier and having him around allows the family to honor her father and cherish the memories they shared. Sara says it’s like having a little piece of her dad with them and Quinn will enjoy spending his days with this wonderful, loving family!
