Carolyn and her family had been looking for a chocolate lab for a long time when they saw Hunter’s photo on Satchel’s website. A volunteer was walking Hunter down Coash Road one morning when Carolyn happened to drive by and stopped to ask if that was Hunter. The volunteer took Carolyn’s contact info and got in touch with her later that day to let her know that Hunter currently had an approved application, but she could submit a backup application. Ironically, upon checking on the status of Hunter, the volunteer had learned that Nela, a young female chocolate lab, had recently arrived at Satchel’s and might be the perfect match for Carolyn’s family. Knowing that Nela would probably be adopted quickly, Carolyn submitted her application that day. When her family met Nela, it was love at first sight. Nela is thriving in her new home and loves her daily two-mile walks morning and evening. She is progressing extremely well with leash training on her Easy Walk Harness and is an excellent student focusing on Mom’s commands. Nela would like to play with her two feline siblings, but they are letting her know that she needs to take it slowly as they become used to her presence. A chance moment between Carolyn and a volunteer has brought Nela and her family together and she will give them many years of happiness and joy!
