Happy Landings for Lucy Flawless (now Olive)! Adoption follow up.
“Lucy (who we now call Olive) is an amazing dog. She is super smart and so easy to train. She gets it right away and is so eager to please that it seems she’s sometimes a step ahead. Just a stern look or word will get her to comply with anything and change her behavior. Olive still has a lot of puppy in her and can sometimes get distracted with puppy stuff, but it’s all good. She likes her new brother Oscar, but Oscar is so old that he simply tolerates her. As you can see in the photo, they get along fine. She’s been doing much better at the dog park and learning how to play with all sorts of doggie friends. She was a little hesitant during the first few visits to the dog park, but I think that may have been some left over anxieties from Satchel’s and all the other dogs. She walks very well on the leash. She was house trained in a day and except for some minor accidents, she’s pretty well house-broken. She’s learning all sorts of commands, including “wait”, “stay”, “down”, “heel”, “come” and we’re going to start working on more advanced stuff soon. She’s eager to learn new stuff and please us. In the evening before bed she’s a real cuddle-bug. We don’t let her on the furniture but she makes up for it by insisting on belly rubs for hours. When it’s time for bed, she willingly gets into her crate for the night and is quiet until we wake up and she’s super excited that it’s a new day with her family. Olive’s favorite game, after tug-of-war, is chasing the water nozzle spray from the garden hose. She chases the end of the water stream like a cat chasing a laser light and when we let her “catch” the water stream, she “chews and growls” her way up the spray. It’s very funny. She’s a wonderful addition to our family and she makes my wife and I very happy.”
Another wonderful, loving home for a great girl!
