Coop’s new family had seen the passing of their 16 year old Beagle last year and they knew that their 5 year old rescue dog Sophie was feeling lonely without a canine sibling. The family learned of the wonderful work that Satchel’s does and wanted to adopt from them. When Mom saw Coop’s photo and read his profile, they hoped he might turn out to be a good match for Sophie. They loved his calm demeanor, but little did they know that Coop would provide much more than a buddy for Sophie. Their younger daughter experiences anxiety and although she did not know that Coop was somewhat timid and lacked confidence, when she rubbed his ear, she told her mom that she could feel his anxiety. When it was time to go, she put it simply; “We need to adopt Coop because he has anxiety just like me”. Now known as Cooper, he has blossomed with his new family and Sophie and Cooper love to play. Cooper adores all of his family, but he has a unique special bond with his youngest human. When it’s time for a bedtime story, Cooper knows that’s his cue to cuddle up and stay by her side throughout the night. While Cooper has received the precious gift of a forever home, he may never know what joy his presence has brought to this family. Truly a match made in Heaven!
