Checked out the Big Back Yard at Satchel’s and had help with the surveillance from other volunteers walking dogs. All was in order so on to Myakka River State Park to check out a bigger plot of land. Most of the inhabitants were elusive, taking refuge from the midday heat, but Andi spotted turkeys-lots of turkeys, scattered in the shady brush. He watched for awhile and decided he too was beat from the heat. Back to the car with purpose. A final sighting of a camera shy doe and two fawns concluded the visit. Homeward bound to Satchel’s for a nap…
