You know…We could post this Autumn update to you guys with a simple congratulations and look how good she’s doing. But my heart and soul tells me it needs more. Think about it…Autumn is approximately 11 years old, has a heart condition, wasn’t expected to live past 4, and has been living at Satchels for 8 years. Never in our wildest dreams did we think she would ever have a family of her own. A warm, loving, caring, and nurturing home. A real bed to sleep in at night, human companionship 24/7, walks whenever she wants them, and all the hugs and cuddles she wants. This…This is what Satchels is all about. This is why we do what we do. All of the blood, sweat, tears, and sacrifices we all endure makes moments like this possible. We do what no other rescue will do…we have faith, belief, and heart.
From Tom & Sue:
Contrary to our expectations, she seemed to have it all figured out even on the way home on Saturday in the truck. By the time we got to back to Venice, and had our hour or so of walking around smelling everything, she settled right in and made it her home. Very affectionate almost immediately, she lets us know when she needs to go outside for her business. Likes to play, and also likes to sleep right up next to you. In fact, she climbs right into bed with us at night, and did this starting day 1. She absolutely loves contact, and likes to curl up next to you.
Anyway, she is behaving beyond our wildest dreams and like she has lived here all her life.
