is a five year-old male catahoula leopard hound mix who would love to start the new year right in a new home! Ragnar came to Satchel’s recently when his former family could no longer care for him. Although he is a large boy, approximately 100 pounds, Ragnar’s love of exercise, particularly long walks is helping him get down to a healthier weight. Ragnar would be a great companion for regular walks and hikes around area parks, and he simply adores jumping in the car for errand runs and adventures. Due to Ragnar’s size, he would do best in a household with adults, and preferably with someone who can handle his occasional pulling on walks. Ragnar seems to like other dogs, wanting to play, but is somewhat dog unsocialized when it comes to dog to dog manners. He loves his toys and “collects” them, not destroying any. Ragnar is also exceptionally intelligent, knows his commands (sit, down, shake) and would really thrive with additional training and enrichment. He does not do well with cats.
