Get Your Mutt Movin’ For A Great Cause!

Support Satchel’s Last Resort Animal Shelter and Sanctuary and Sarasota City YMCA and register for a beautiful 3 mile run through Payne park or our walk- pick your distance! Bring your dogs, friends and family and join in the fun from 8:30am-1pm, Saturday, February 24th, 2024 (Run starts at 8:30am – festival at 9am)

Prizes for overall male and female finisher and top 3 runners in each age group. NEW THIS YEAR- prizes for the first 3 dogs who finish the run!!! First prize for the winning dog has been donated by Bayside Pet Resort– a $350 value -a free three night stay, bath and nail trim!

This year’s festival will again include Zumba with Yael at 10:30am, shopping, raffles, music, food and more! Your support goes directly back into your community, providing care for shelter animals, summer camp scholarships and so much more. Have fun while making a difference in the lives of many!

Packet Pick up will be held at two locations on two dates:

Thurs., Feb. 22nd  4 to 7pm at Fleet Feet Sarasota 711 S. Osprey Av., Sarasota

Fri., Feb. 23nd  4 to 7pm at New Balance University 315 N. Cattlemen Rd., Unit 1, Sarasota

Please plan to attend one of these sessions to keep things moving smoothly on race day! We will have Race Day registration and any remaining packets will be available for pick up at the registration table.

Run/Walk Information

The 5k Run will start at 8:30am. The race is professionally timed by Florida Race Day. Awards will be given to fastest overall female and male runners, and to the top 3 finishers in each age group. Pets are welcome but limited to 1 dog per runner. Runners with 4 legged partners please start in the back of the pack for everyone’s safety- we want to protect all paws from being stepped on!

Once the course is clear of runners, at 9:30am we will start the Walk- options for 1-3 miles will be available so you can pick your distance. Pets and strollers are welcome!

All dogs must be on (non-retractable) leashes at all times per park rules.

Pre- register by February 4th to guarantee an event t-shirt and swag bag. This year’s bags include $10 coupons for Fleet Feet, New Balance or Molly’s, free drink coupons at Food and Beer, and other goodies. See below for more information about Packet Pick up for all pre-registered runners/walkers.
