Do you have room in your heart and home to give Lily the end-of-life experience she deserves?
We are seeking a very special person to help our Lily get to the end-of-life experience that she has earned. This girl does not deserve to end her existence here at the shelter. One of the items on Lily’s bucket list is a home of her very own. She would love to have someone to Netflix and chill with when she has a bad day or sun herself by the pool (even if it’s a kiddie pool) when she feels a bit better. Lily loves people of all ages but she is not a fan of other animals. She can walk past a dog without any major issue but when confronted nose to nose, she is not a fan.
Lily has spent at least the last 2 years in the shelter environment. While she is very much a staff and volunteer favorite, she would greatly benefit from a fospice home. Lily has many mast cell tumors at the surface of her skin. The likelihood of metastasis to other areas of the body is very high. She has lost a good deal of weight. Despite all of this, she doesn’t seem to know she has cancer. She loves walks, car rides, treats, chasing lizards, and being loved on by her people. She is looking for her retirement home where she can finally have some peace and quiet, a good night’s sleep, as well as a family to love.
Lily has a Woof Pack leader here at Satchel’s and goes for home visits at least once a week, spending the day relaxing with Sally. She is a wonderful house guest – no accidents, no chewing, no trouble at all – she’s just looking for loving companionship for her final time with us on earth. We can’t predict if that will be weeks, months or even years.
As a Satchel’s foster or fospice parent, we provide you with everything you need from food to medical and everything in between. What do you say? Do you have room in your heart to give Lily what she is dreaming of?
