Bounced around from shelter to shelter for much of her young life, Cece arrived at Satchel’s two years ago at the beginning of the pandemic in need of stability, consistency and training. Our volunteers were up to the task making sure Cece had dedicated handlers giving her twice daily long walks, car rides, trips to local parks and pool time. Although still wary of strangers, Cece slowly began to be more accepting of meeting new people especially after a proper introduction. Rebecca and Jason, working from home during lockdown, were looking for a new pitbull to love and called to meet Cece after they saw her photo and profile online. Rebecca and Jason instantly fell in love and it was mutual for Cece. Once in her new home, Cece’s new parents worked with a trainer to continue Cece’s socialization and obedience training.
Fast forward two years, Cece is loved more than ever by her family and she was recently featured as a doggie model in the May 2022 edition of SRQ Magazine’s “Pets We Love” issue. We are so thrilled to see Cece’s smiling face reminding us second chances are possible and every dog deserves that chance!
