Three-year-old Bentley had been shuffled around between homes and rescues in his young life due to health issues, which included recurring urinary blockages. He was recently surrendered to a local veterinarian’s office who contacted Satchel’s for assistance. We knew that, with proper medical attention, Bentley could live a normal, happy life, so Bentley underwent a life-changing surgical procedure called a perineal urethrostomy (PU). This surgery widens the urethra and can reduce the likelihood of future blockages. Bentley also tested positive for FeLV, a condition requiring him to be the only cat in the household or to be placed in a home with other FeLV-positive cats.
Marissa and her family had just lost their beloved 23-year-old cat and were eager to open their hearts to another feline family member. After meeting the sweet and resilient Bentley, they knew they could offer him the home he had been looking for, and Bentley was officially adopted this past week. Marissa says, “I knew he was meant for us when we first saw those eyes!” Congratulations to Bentley and his new family!
