Daisy Mae was discovered wandering alone, presumably after being hit by a vehicle. DeSoto County Animal Services contacted us for assistance, and we knew we had to do what we could to help this young dog. Sadly, Daisy Mae’s leg was irreparable due to a combination of bone “melting” caused by infection and a lack of timely medical attention. After surgery to remove her fractured leg, Daisy Mae recovered in a loving foster home and quickly showed her resilient and happy spirit. Unhindered by being a tripod, Daisy Mae was soon playing with her foster siblings and accompanying her foster Mom to our offsite adoption events. When Ramona, a former Satchel’s adopter, saw Daisy Mae’s profile online, she knew Daisy Mae would be a perfect addition to her family, including two dogs and her 92-year-old father.
