Happy Landings for Bogey (now Pookie) – Adoption follow up.
Jeannine had many cats over the years. Her last cat had passed three years ago and she was now ready to adopt. She was thinking of getting a Ragdoll or a Maine Coon but was unable to find what she was looking for. A friend and Satchels volunteer sent her a photo of Bogey knowing she wanted a long haired cat. When Jeannine saw his beautiful markings and met him, she instantly fell in love and began fostering him. It was somewhat of a tenuous transition for Bogey as he hid from everyone and was frightened of everything. His previous family had abandoned him outside when they moved so it was not surprising behavior. Jeannine was very patient and loving and after three months, it was a joyous occasion when she finalized his adoption. Pookie now knows that he is safe, secure and very much loved. Jeannine has always taught her cats to perform a command in order to earn a reward and intelligent Pookie (formerly Bogey) has learned quickly. Sit pretty, shake, high five and way up are fun tricks and earn him a tasty treat. Jeannine says that “Pookie Precious” is her beloved companion and she is very grateful to everyone who was involved in securing his forever home with her.
