FOSPICE NEEDED PLEASE!
Kamper has quickly become a staff and volunteer favorite. He is such a love bug and all who know Kamper are instantly drawn to his sweet, gentle personality. He is a fantastic walker and loves car rides. He loves all people but he is not a fan of other animals.
Recently, we noticed that Kamper occasionally would have short episodes where he seemed to be disoriented. He would display a brief staggered gait but would then go back to his normal routine. We took him to our vet to investigate this issue. Bloodwork revealed an abnormally low glucose level. An ultrasound with a internal medicine specialist was then recommended and performed. It is with great sadness that we have now learned that Kamper has a rare tumor of the pancreas (insulinoma) that is causing him to produce too much insulin, resulting in hypoglycemia. He also has another tumor connected to his liver.
We want nothing more than Kamper’s last few days or months to be as happy as possible. It a hard thing to ask but we are searching for a fospice type situation. We are looking for a home that will see this sweet boy through his last days before crossing over the rainbow bridge. You will fall in love and know in a short time you will have to let him go. We understand this is not a task that everyone can take on but it is the greatest gift anyone can give this dog.
