Bud, one of Satchel’s long time Residents passed away on Sept. 17, 2011 in his sleep. Bud was loved by everyone who knew him. He was not a very “mushy” kind of dog but showed his love using a squeaky ball. Back in his day, he would play ball picking it up and tossing it back at you. He didn’t go for just any ball. It had to be the right texture with a squeaker in it. When he wanted to go out he would squeak it until someone would let him out and he NEVER left his kennel without it. He made incredible catches in his day. He always had three or four in his kennel. If you tried to let him in or out without his squeaky ball, he would not go.
He came to live at Satchel’s when his mom and brother, who he adored, were told by their landlord that Bud had to go.
Bud was a gentle dog with soulful eyes that drew you in. He loved walks, car rides, and snuggling with a select few that he held close to his heart. He will be greatly missed at Satchels. See you at the Rainbow Bridge with all our other friends running and playing.
