The Dog with 3 Names

41 with Angelina_1

On a Monday morning in April our founder, Mike was driving in on US 41 when he witnessed a dog being hit by a car.   Of course, he stopped, quickly rounded up help to place this badly injured dog in his car and off to the veterinarian, calling them on the phone to make sure they were ready for their arrival.  Once at Beach Veterinary Clinic, we needed a name for the record so he was quickly called “41”.  We were informed that 41 was in very critical condition with internal and orthopedic injuries and guess what, 41 is micro chipped.  So let’s stabilize the dog and find the owner.  Once the owner was reached, she informed the Vet the dog was just “rehomed” to another person recently so, now to find them.  We reached the next person who said the dog’s name was Chance, but now neither “owner” was interested in this dog anymore.  Chance turned out to be Sanders, who was adopted from Sarasota County Animal Services in January of this year.  Dr. Luke told us, this dog with 3 names was in critical condition but is now stabilized and he was “cautiously optimistic” on his full recovery.  Day 2 and 3 goes by with some improvement and on Day 4, “41” was up and walking and eating.  We were thrilled in receiving this good news!   On Day 5, “our” dog with 3 names, “41”, Chance and/or Sanders is now in a loving foster home recuperating nicely.  He still cannot bear weight on his left front leg due to nerve damage but, we will work on that in the near future.  Right now he is wanted and loved by us and his foster home and as soon as he recovers from his injuries, he will be ready for a new home and a bright future ♥
